Large 8vo.; publisher's striking mid-blue pictorial cloth blocked with an Art Nouveau design in purple, cream, green and gilt to spine and upper board, lettered and panelled gilt, top edges gilt; pp. xi + 201 + [i] + 8, publisher's catalogue; with a total of 70 fine coloured plates after watercolours by Du Cane, all with captioned guards; a bright and attractive copy with light external rubbing, bruising to spine ends and the lower two forecorner tips, and light speckling to edges of book block, internally generally very clean with occasional small marking and foxing.
Third edition, issued 7 years after the first edition of 1905.
