Large 8vo.; publisher's midnight blue cloth beautifully and elaborately blocked to an Art Nouveau design in green, brown, cream and gilt to spine and upper board, lettered gilt, top edges gilt; pp. xii + 234 + [i] + [4] publisher's catalogue; with a total of 75 fine coloured plates after watercolours by Fulleylove and a folding map of the country tipped-in to the rear; an uncommonly fresh attractive copy of one of the most striking books in the series, with a small indentation to top edge of upper board and bruising to spine ends, internally clean and sound, with a previous owner's neat inscription to front free endpaper, dated 1907.
First edition and sole edition with the full complement of plates. The 1924 edition had only 32 plates.
