First edition. Augustus Earle was one of the first freelance travel artists of the early 19th century, and befriended Charles Darwin on the voyage of the Beagle. The paintings and drawings are held in the Nan Kivell collection at the National Library of Australia are well catalogued and the volume is concluded by a bibliography.
