FEYNMAN, Richard. The Character of Physical Law.
British Broadcasting Corporation. 1965.
8vo. Original cloth and wrapper; pp. 173, 4 pages of plates, text diagrams; wrapper a little rubbed, internally fine.
First UK edition, scarcer than the M.I.T. edition that was published simultaneously in the USA. This book is comprised of the texts of the seven Messenger Lectures that Feynman delivered at Cornell University and which were televised on BBC2. Feynman "discusses the principles which sweep across the whole range of physical law" (blurb). The lectures are certainly broad in scope, discussing the law of gravitation, the principles of conservation and symmetry, quantum mechanics and the role of the theoretical physicist.
