Original tan cloth, spine lettered in gilt; coloured frontispiece and 49 black-and-white plates; a very good copy in a little rubbed dust-jacket, the spine of which is reinforced internally and chipped at the head, with the bookplate of the famous London jeweller and silversmith Paul Longmire designed by Arthur Wragg.

First edition.The first nine cartoons form the historical series "Tales of Three Nations" (England, France and Germany), the remaining plates are "Various Persons and Ideas" and "Studies in the Eighteen-Seventies".
